How to Run A Successful Business : 5 Keys to Business Success
Starting a business is great. I mean anyone with some capital or investment can start a business right? However the most important aspect is running that business, and this is exactly where most entrepreneurs fail before they’ve even started that business. In this weeks video, I share my top 5 tips and keys to running a successful business. This list of tips on running a successful business is non exhaustive and is simply based on my personal experience running several online businesses.

1 – An Action Plan
Planning is key when it comes to running a successful business. Like the say goes, if you fail to plan, then plan to fail. Having an action plan will act as a guide on what needs to be done and how it needs to done, and in doing so can help you with running a successful business.
2 – Consistency is Key
Consistency is key when it comes to running a successful business. A lack of consistency is what holds a lot of people back not just in business but also in their personal lives. Now think of it this way, if you start a hair salon business for example, but each time customers come to your shop you are closed. What exactly do you expect to happen? Of course customers will leave you and go straight to your competitors. Similarly, if you start an online boutique business and do nothing to market and advertise that business, then no ones ever going to find you. Hence in order to run a business successfully, you need to stay consistent at all times.
3 – Time Management
Time management is another powerful tip to running a successful business. With so many activities involved in the process of running a business such as; customer service, marketing, selling, networking, packaging, shipping, accounting, etc, its no wonder we get so overwhelmed in the business running process. Hence to ensure you manage your time properly, it is essential to have a time management tool in place for your business. You can use Excel or Microsoft word templates to plan your times, or better still check out tools such as the Action Machine for a great software on time management.
4 – Outsourcing
When it comes to running a business, trying to figure everything out alone could be a rather daunting process. A great way to overcome this is to outsource to freelancers and virtual assistants so you can focus on the more important aspects of your business such as creativity, business improvement and growth strategies. Platforms such as Fiverr.com and Upwork are filled with freelancers and virtual assistants willing to take this weight off your shoulders at a very low cost. Outsourcing is a great way to help you focus on running a successful business.
5 – Be Patient
Patience is key when it comes to running a successful business. Remember business is a journey and comes with its ups and downs. So be prepared for the good and bad days and prepare yourself to mentally deal with it. Stay patient, don’t give up and remain focused and this will equally reflect on your business success.
